Parents/Guardians of Mexia ISD students:
As you know, the flu season is upon us. We have had several confirmed cases of seasonal flu in our school district. We need your help in securing the healthiest environment for your children while we maintain a functional school setting.
The most common symptoms seen to date are elevated temperature, vomiting, headache and general body achiness.
Please DO NOT send your child to school if they are complaining of these or other symptoms that might lead you to believe they have a contagious illness.
If your child is diagnosed, we would appreciate it if you would notify the campus nurse for cases confirmed by your physician.
Please do not allow your child to return to school until they have been free of fever for 24 hours.
The district maintenance teams are working diligently to keep our buildings clean and sanitized with the use of antimicrobial mists in classrooms, germicidal sprays on student desks and various other disinfectant solutions throughout the facilities.
We will notify you of any additional changes in our strategy to prevent the spread of seasonal illnesses. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
