Staff Appreciation Week

Below is a message from Kelvin Beachum and his Project Manager:
Dr. Young and Dr. Ross,
First and foremost, I must extend my gratitude again for your amazing efforts last week at the STEM Days in Mexia. It was a fantastic week of educational programming, and you were both so welcoming and helpful. It was a delight to see the students light up around interactive learning and gain so much from the experience. It was a great introduction to a (hopefully) long and impactful partnership with UT Tyler and their wonderful staff, knowledge, and resources. I know they are eager to unite on future opportunities, and Kelvin is passionate about and dedicated to making Mexia ISD the greatest beneficiary of their contributions.
Below are links to some of the coverage from last week. We had some really amazing national coverage! ESPN Radio and Sirius XM NFL Radio were among our radio coverage entities, and we had a lot of great support on all of our social media platforms as well.
Thank you both again!!
Teacher Resignation Deadline
According to the Texas Education Code, a teacher may resign and leave the employment of the District at the end of a school year without penalty by submitting a written resignation not later than the 45th calendar day before the first day of instruction of the following school year. For the Mexia ISD, this date will be Friday, July 8, 2016.

It should be noted that any resignation postmarked or submitted after the above mentioned date may not be accepted unless circumstances dictate otherwise.

Statewide Testing
Dear Parents/Guardians
There are several messages being sent out across the state regarding problems and issues with the statewide testing system. We have only experienced minor concerns that have been addressed. If major issues, such as computers locking students out of testing, or test booklets not arriving in district, we will inform you immediately. Again, Mexia ISD has not experienced the drastic problems that other districts are experiencing.
Queridos padres / tutores
